Remember The Oath We Took

Services are listed in the order they were established

If you are currently enlisted in the US Armed Services or, a veteran of US Armed Services you took one of these oaths upon entering service

Enlistment Oath.

“I, [name], do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.”

Commissioned Officers Oath

I, [name], do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.

I would ask with those currently serving in the US Armed Services or veterans of the US Armed Services to reflect on these questions.

Do you feel that those serving in the US Armed Services should be Truthful, Honest, and Trustworthy without exception?

Do you feel that anyone currently serving or has served is either a loser or a sucker for having joined in the US Armed Services?

We are about to make a decision as to who will be the next commander in chief. For me it’s the actions of the individuals rather than the rhetoric that aids me in making this decision.

Our current president likes the military for photo opportunities. He professes to support the military, but here are some of the actions that I find deeply concerning.

He openly stated that he “knows more than the generals, yet he has absolutely no military background.

The President told a conservative forum in Iowa in 2015 that his view of the late Senator John McCain, “He’s not a war hero. He’s a war hero because he was captured. I like people that weren’t captured.” Do you feel this is appropriate for any commanding officer?

When it was reported that the Russia was paying a bounty for the lives of military personnel in Afghanistan, the president remained silent and has done nothing.

He degraded and humiliated a Gold Star Family because they didn’t agree with him.

He refused to attend a memorial service at a cemetery in France honoring World War One veterans. His reasons, he might get his hair wet and the cemetery was full of suckers and losers.

In the 1960s this President received a draft deferment for a bone spur on his foot. He later stated on the Howard Stern radio program that his Vietnam was avoiding sexually transmitted diseases. He further stated that he thought he should receive the Congressional Medal of Honor for this.

The President once said he would disown and disinherit his son Donald Trump Jr. if he joined the Army.

The president states very loudly that he supports the military, yet his actions say something very differently. When I was in the military, I learned that we did not necessarily have to like those we served with, but we did need to trust them and they needed to trust us. Lives depend on that trust.

In a published letter, more than 200 retired generals and admirals (that included 22 retired four-star military officers) stated the current President has failed “to meet challenges large or small.”

Joining the top military brass were nearly 300 other former national security officials and diplomats. William Webster, the former director of the CIA and the FBI, was among the signatories, along with five former defense secretaries: William Perry, William Cohen, Chuck Hagel, Leon Panetta and Ash Carter.

I ask myself, is this President capable of ordering the military to take arms against US citizens in order to remain in office? His words may say no, but his actions say he would. I do not want to see our current active duty personnel in a position of having to make that decision.

This President poses a Clear and Present Danger to our Democracy and the Constitution
